Ground Marshal Training

Online Information Session
presented by Football Victoria

Monday 16 August – 6:00pm to 7:30pm

Bendigo City FC is pleased to confirm that we will be hosting an online Ground Marshal Information Session, presented by Football Victoria on Monday 16th August from 6:00pm.

This initiative comes after discussion with FV following an increase in poor spectator behaviour this season, and an appreciation of the challenge this causes on match day for ground marshals, club officials, other volunteers and players.

Football Victoria is also very challenged by this problem.

The session will be conducted by Will Hastie, Executive Manager, Football Operations, and David Carrington, the former General Counsel, from Football Victoria.

In the session you will learn more about the role of Ground Marshal:

  • The responsibilities of the role,
  • Options for responding to situations,
  • The process of reporting incidents, and
  • How the role relates to other mechanisms for providing a safe and enjoyable playing environment.

Participants are invited to provide questions ahead of time to ensure everyone’s queries are answered.

BCFC has worked hard with FV to have this training delivered for our club.

We would like all parents who volunteer as Ground Marshals, and those who would like to, to attend this training.

Our club needs as many people around the club to be aware of the role of Ground Marshals, and what to do in the event of an incident. We encourage other parent volunteers: videographers, team managers, COVID Marshals to attend. Your committee will be attending.

While the session will be recorded, it is much more impactful to be part of the conversation in real time.

Please respond by Monday 9 August.
