Football (soccer) in Bendigo

Do you have a child (or grandchild) who is interested in playing soccer? That’s fantastic. It’s a great sport and there is a great football community here in Bendigo.

Bendigo City FC is a development club for advanced players playing U13 – U17 ages at a state level. We do not run a juniors program.

There are half-a-dozen excellent clubs across Bendigo that run programs for beginner footballers commencing from around age 6.

These include:

There are also clubs at:

The local club competition is organised by BASL – The Bendigo Amateur Soccer League.

Bendigo City does not recommend a specific club as a “feeder” club. Every year we welcome players from each of the local clubs as well as clubs from Melbourne, across Victoria and interstate.
We recommend that you approach your nearest club and ask about playing there – many clubs have gala or “come and try days” and BASL also regularly conducts 5-a-side programs for kids wanting to give soccer a try. You could also ask some other children at your child’s school which club they play with and organise to play together.
Local clubs across the region are very welcoming and supportive of new families and players.

We hope that one day we can welcome your child to a Bendigo City FC squad!
Enjoy your football!
